Twitter brings new context to Tweets with Related Headlines.

Brands creating news content might soon receive extra exposure when they cover trending subjects, as Twitter announced it will now feature related headlines in Tweets embedded on external websites. This new feature brings additional context to outlets that share updates from the platform.

Pairing Tweets with extended news pieces provides readers with background information about the stories behind trending messages. In addition to adding context, this also helps internet users discover relevant information online that may not be easy to find within social media content shared on Twitter.

Twitter Announces Related Headlines To Bring Context To Tweets.

The gap between social media and search is rapidly closing as networks like Twitter and Facebook allow seamless sharing across channels. While this release brings externals news articles to Twitter content, Facebook recently made it easier for people to share Posts on their own web pages, Brafton reported.

With the introduction of Related Headlines, marketers can get a little extra mileage out of the articles they share online if the pieces are picked up as supporting stories. The added exposure can drive additional social or search traffic to company's web pages where they can find collateral that pushes them through the sales funnel.
